Itinerary:
Day 1 – 2 Yerevan
Arrival in Yerevan, city tour.
Day 3 – 5 Mount Aragats
We will spend 3 days hiking on Mount Aragats, Armenia's highest mountain, with one of the largest craters in the world.
Day 6 – 9 Geghama Mountains
The Geghama Mountains offer splendid views of Lake Sevan and the Ararat valley, and we will hike to Mounts Azhdahag and Spitakasar while camping near nomad villages.
Day 10 – 11 Khosrov Nature Reserve & Geghard
The Khosrov Nature Reserve is an alpine wilderness with towering mountains, woodland, subalpine meadows, home to 163 bird species. We will hike through its valleys to Garni village and the Temple of Mithra as well as Geghard Monastery carved out of solid rock.
Day 12 – 13 Yerevan
Tow days using Yerevan as a base to visit Etchmiadzin (the world's oldest official church), Zvartnots temple (7th century) and Sardarapat Museum of Ethnography.
Grade
The tour includes 9 days of hiking, from 5 to 21 km per day. Travel will be on foot between camping locations. We will hike to the top of several mountains up to a height of 4008 metres. Several nights we will camp at 3400 metres. Normally you will carry your own pack on the trail, while guides carry all camping equipment and food. For a small supplement your pack can also be carried by one of our guides. Pack animals will be used for days 6 to 11.

When we receive your booking we send you a dossier, which contains a suggested gear and clothing list. If you do have queries at this initial stage please contact us and we will be pleased to offer advice.
Accommodation
5 nights in modern comfortable hotels in Yerevan and Lake Sevan. 7 nights camping in locations throughout Armenia. All tents, sleeping bags, kitchen equipment and food is carried by the guides.
Please note that single rooms are normally only available in hotels – where a single room supplement may apply.

Weather conditions, road and transport conditions, and the health of walkers can all contribute to changes. The guide will ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but an easy-going nature is an asset!
